Overview
Vasily is a half-orc whaler/fisherman who collects javelins. He experiences various horrors and traumas while trying to make a living on the Keplinger Isles. He is played by Ben in Birminghouse DnD.
Personality and Relationships
Unaccustomed to the adventuring lifestyle, Vasily is often beset by fear and panic when combat occurs. He does not like to kill and easily becomes emotional when faced with violence or uncertain situations. For example, in the Keplinger Lighthouse dungeon, he got so scared that he was convinced he could not see. Having presumably lived there his whole life, he is friends with some of the locals of the isle, such as Benji Frogwater.
Vasily originally despised King Toli and planned to steal his crown. When the two were injured after an encounter, they had a fist fight at the urgent care over who would get healing first. However, after the perilous battle against Noke and his beasts, Vasily and King Toli developed a brotherly bond. He was deeply affected by King Toli's passing, enough to fall into denial and become attached to Toliver, the construct Dr. Dirt created from Toli's corpse. Similar to his evolving relationship with King Toli, Vasily originally hated Dr. Dirt, but he came to accept him after the escape from the Keplinger Lighthouse.
Although Vasily and Cinnamon differ wildly in philosophy, the two are often willing to cooperate as a means to an end. Vasily has sometimes expressed horror at Cinnamon's cutthroat pragmatism and inclination towards violence, while Cinnamon is easily frustrated and annoyed by Vasily's tendency to panic. They share an interest in being paid a lot of money and sometimes a sense of spite towards less cooperative party members, which can lead them to scheme together. "Friends" might be a strong word to describe their relationship, but they are willing to work together and have saved each other's lives more than once during their adventures.
Vasily at one point had a goose companion named Teagan. However, Teagan flew away after he forced her to fight, and he later replaced her with a seagull named Seagan.
Appearance
As a half-orc, Vasily has a strong build. Although he is only in his 30s, he looks at least two decades older due to both the shortened lifespan of orcs and the incredible stress he is constantly under. His adventuring outfit includes leather armor make from whale hide.
